For those looking for a break from the stress and crowds of typical Christmas shopping at the mall, here's an opportunity to shop in an elegant relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy an inviting shopping experience combined with the opportunity to dine in a beautiful indoor garden setting.

What is The Holly and The Ivy?

The Holly and The Ivy is set up like a boutique gift shop. The organizers take great pride in achieving a festive yet elegant display of the crafters' wares. Only handmade arts and crafts are offered for sale. The organizers highlight the fact that it is difficult to find shows that feature only handmade arts and crafts. Building on the concept of the gift shop approach, customers bring their items to a central check out point rather than paying individual crafters.

The Holly and the Ivy is not just about crafts and crafters. Over our 20 year history, the show has accepted donations that have significantly supported the work of Project Bundle-up. In total The Holly and The Ivy and its customers have contributed more than $21,000 to the charity. (See below for more information on Project Bundle-up.)

We are hoping to secure live music by a local artists again this year.

The organizers point out that, in addition to cash and checks, the show accepts Master Card, Visa, and debit cards. There is ample parking and handicap access is convenient.

This year's shows will feature the work of 30 artists and crafters in a wide array of media.  A sample of what was offered last year is listed below.   An updated list will be shown when the shows are completely full.

Hand thrown pottery, tatted and stenciled note cards, candles, soaps, photographs of Pittsburgh, dried and silk floral arrangements, baskets, all kinds of hand painted items, stuffed snowmen dolls and angels, mosaic items, stained glass, wine jelly, appliqué clothing, painted clothing, wire jewelry, beaded jewelry and silverware, hand woven and knitted clothing and hats, magnetic picture frames, shaker boxes, quilted table runners, ceramic trees and snowmen, homemade assorted biscotti made with natural and organic products, and chocolate candy.

Project Bundle-up is a program of the Salvation Army in Western PA working together with community volunteers and businesses raise money to provide warm winter outerwear to more than 132,000 people throughout the area. Project Bundle-up serves needy and disabled senior citizens and disadvantaged children, ranging from infants to teens. Most of the children served are of elementary school age. We thank our customers for their continued support of this charity.
